🥑 Avocado Egg Toast with a Twist
⏱️ Ready in: 15 minutes
🍳 Serves: 1–2 people
Ingredients:
2 slices of bread (your choice: sourdough, whole grain, or white)
1 ripe avocado - 2 eggs - 1 tbsp butter or olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste - A squeeze of lemon or lime (optional)
Red pepper flakes or everything bagel seasoning (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
Toast the bread until golden and crisp.
Mash the avocado in a small bowl. Add a pinch of salt, pepper, and lemon juice if you like a little zing.
Fry the eggs: Heat butter or olive oil in a pan.
Crack in the eggs and cook sunny-side-up, or flip for over-easy—your choice.
Assemble:
Spread the mashed avocado evenly on each slice of toast.
Top each with a fried egg.
Finish strong: Sprinkle red pepper flakes or everything bagel seasoning on top.

Add sliced cherry tomatoes, smoked salmon, or a drizzle of hot sauce if you want to level it up
🥖 Portuguese Breakfast – Pão, Queijo e Café (Bread, Cheese and Coffee)
Ready in: 5–10 minutes
Serves: 1
Ingredients:
1 Portuguese roll (papo-seco) or any crusty bread
A few slices of queijo flamengo (mild cheese) or any soft cheese
A small amount of butter or jam
1 cup of strong coffee or café com leite (coffee with milk)
Instructions:
Slice the bread and lightly toast it if you like it warm.
Spread butter or jam on one half of the bread.
Add cheese slices or even a thin slice of ham if you want a “tosta mista” (toasted ham and cheese sandwich).
Serve with coffee or milk coffee, often enjoyed slowly with conversation or while reading the newspaper.
